Obama Presence Protest in Savannah, GA MArch 2, 2010

Tuesday, March 2, 2010

Time: 11:30am - 3:00pm
Location: Intersection of White Bluff and Abercorn Description

We will meet at the intersection of White Bluff and Abercorn. The Oglethorpe Mall at that intersection offers large amounts of free parking and allows us a central meeting point if we want to move our protest! President Obama will arrive in Savannah March 2nd.

He no doubt, will be rallying support for his new jobs bill and the nuclear plant being built here in Georgia. Let's show the Prez and our local representation how we feel about this administration and the choices they make. Make a sign and bring a friend!

this is the facebook group event. http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=497561045203 We will have people stationed at both gates to give us a heads up. I will be on White Bluff at the entrance to Sav. Tech. They will call me when they see the direction things are going and we will pass the word. We suggest that you position yourself on Hampstead, White Bluff to Johnson or at the Stephenson Gate on the median of White Bluff. My guess is that he will be at Sav. Tech about an hour. We do not know where is going after that. We do know he will be going to Georgia Ports sometime. He is leaving Savannah around 4:00

Why Real Conservatives Are Against the War on Terrorism

Why Real Conservatives Are Against the War on Terrorism

LOLA created a panel for CPAC called- Why Real Conservatives Are Against the War on Terrorism. This instruction gave clear and concise understandings as to why anyone that believes in Liberty should be against the war on terror and any aggression against others

Is America’s current “War on Terror” essential to keeping our nation safe? Or is it yet another vehicle for the federal government to increase its power over our lives and take away our liberties? Is the “War on Terror” actually weakening our national defense and increasing opposition overseas?

The panel, Created by LOLA and co-sponsored by The Future of Freedom Foundation, Ladies of Liberty Alliance and Campaign for Liberty, included:

# Karen Kwiatkowski — retired U.S. Air Force Lieutenant Colonel

# Jacob Hornberger — founder and president of The Future of Freedom Foundation

# Philip M. Giraldi — former CIA counter-terrorism specialist and military intelligence officer, current Francis Walsingham Fellow at The American Conservative Defense Alliance

# Bruce Fein — former associate deputy attorney general in the Reagan administration

Ladies of Liberty Alliance Presents-

Tracey Harmon – Peace Keeper in Iraq

United States of America – February 12, 2010  - Tracey Harmon, Army veteran and Southwest Regional Outreach Director for the Ladies of Liberty Alliance, is traveling to Iraq this April for a very different purpose than her former employer would have allowed.  With an international team devoted to the principles of “devoting the same discipline and self-sacrifice to non-violent peacemaking that armies devote to war,"  Tracey will head to Iraq via Turkey on April 15th.

In the conflicted border regions of the Kurdish north, Tracey will be documenting human rights violations against civilian populations and meeting with various relief groups and Iraqi civilians.  She will be also be conducting local radio interviews and blogging with live footage and reports from the ground.

In Tracey's own words, “[it] has been my personal obligation to travel to Iraq ever since enlisting in the U.S. Army at 18 years old.  As a soldier, I swore an oath to protect and defend the Constitution from all foreign and domestic enemies.  When I realized that more enemies of the U.S. Constitution are being created, and the surge of violence and terrorism is increasing by our presence in Iraq, I could no longer participate in the unnecessary bloodshed and violence our country was waging, and thus applied and received Conscientious Objector status.  Now, I have the unique opportunity to travel unarmed to Iraq on a peacemaking mission, and accept personal responsibility for the damage due to my participation as a formal soldier, and to work towards alleviating human suffering in any capacity I can.”

To the War Zone Without a Weapon- An Army Vet's hopeful trek to Iraq on a peace mission

To the War Zone Without a Weapon- An Army Vet's hopeful trek to Iraq on a peace mission

Tracey Harmon will be heading to Iraq in April- in hopes of awakening the hearts and minds of others to the non aggression principle.  Here is a more detailed description of her mission and how you can support her:

It has been my personal obligation to travel to Iraq ever since enlisting in the U.S Army at 18 years old.   As a soldier, I swore an oath to protect and defend the constitution of the United States from all foreign and domestic enemies.  When it occurred to me that more enemies of the U.S constitution are being created and the surge of violence and terrorism is increasing by our presence in Iraq, I decided to apply for Conscientious Objector status.  I refused to participate in the unnecessary bloodshed and violence our country is waging against innocent civilians, and vowed to go to Iraq without a weapon.  Now, I have the unique opportunity to travel unarmed to Iraq on a peacemaking delegation this spring.

I depart for Istanbul on April 15.   I will be traveling with an international team through an anonymous organization that follows the principal of "devoting the same discipline and self-sacrifice to non-violent peacemaking that armies devote to war."  Their ground teams are based in the conflicted border regions of the Kurdish North and accompany displaced persons by documenting human rights violations against civilian populations. I came into contact with their work through my travels in the Middle East.  After hearing my story of getting out of the Army as a Conscientious Objector to war, the Executive Director of this organization gave me a special invitation to visit all of the ground teams in Iraq.

Although the main purpose of the team’s delegation is to access the security for future participants, my overall mission is multifaceted:  I will be meeting with various NGOs, relief groups, and local Iraqi civilians to document an insider's perspective on the cost of war, and the structural damage we have caused.  I hope to conduct live radio interviews in country to illustrate this reality. I will be taking letters from veterans in Iraq Veterans Against the War - letters of remorse, grief, and apology for losses. I will accept personal responsibility for the damage due to my participation, as a former soldier, and work towards alleviating human suffering in any capacity I can.  I hope to return home with footage, interviews, stories, pictures, articles, as well as contacts for a future delegation I am planning on behalf of Iraq Veterans Against the War and LOLA.  This is a risky trip I am taking – but I already swore to give my life to defend this nation once.  I believe that the greatest thing I can do to protect my country is to protect those whom our “Military-Industrial Complex” has harmed.  As a Conscientious Objector to war, I believe that making peace requires extreme non-violent action.

I am requesting that you join me on this peacemaking delegation.  To cover transportation and basic ground costs, I need to raise $3000.  I am not only asking for your financial assistance, but also your support.  I am creating an email chain for those who wish to receive immediate updates while I am in Iraq, as well as access to my blog with live footage.

In the words of Martin Luther King, Jr., “It is not enough to say we must not wage war. It is necessary to love peace and sacrifice for it.”

Thank you so much,

Tracey Harmon

LOLA at the Freedom's Phoenix Freedom Summit.

By: Allison Gibbs A few of us ladies hit up the Freedom Summit. There, we met many wonderful women and spread the message of Liberty! Thank you to Ernie Hancock and Dr. Paul for taking pictures with us! 11449_1175055781333_1376225584_30470088_2801817_n 11449_1176267811633_1376225584_30473671_8247576_n I personally found myself entangled with the ideals of liberty here. So much so that it has changed the way I see the world. Its amazing how events like these can do that. I realized that this movement is about us. Its about us building what we want. Whether its through the political process or not, that isn't the point. The true point is that we wake up as many people as possible. Let's take the red pill this time. Lets choose our own fate. Thank you Freedom Summit.

Sometimes we blindly accept what agents of the state (police officers, congressman, anyone paid by the government) tell us is lawful.
We as women have learned a few different scenarios of getting out of tickets or run ins with these individuals. Let's learn what is lawful and what isn't so we don't have to succumb to relying on flirtation, stupidity, ignorance, or the bat of an eye. Lets educate ourselves and know our rights!

Thank you to Flex Your Rights for this!

Let's fight back

I am Allison Gibbs and IamLOLA(.org).

I spent my time from '98-08 fighting antibiotic resistant bacteria, researching AIDS/HIV, and working in the microbiological field.  I never thought I would be here but all of that changed in 2007, and by mid-2008 I was on the ground pushing for Dr. Paul while working in the lab. The moment had come where I had to make a decision. Conviction in Liberty or getting Gov't grants. I chose liberty- uprooted my life- and here I am. Fighting for a voluntary society.

I am a southern girl, a microbiologist, an idealist, and a devotee to Freedom and Liberty. I am a member of the Free State Project, work for a very large grassroots organization, and am a proud member of LOLA.

I believe in giving your entire self to conviction based ideals and have devoted my life to helping facilitate the need of this movement and those within it.

I was raised by an amazing family that taught me to be impeccible with your word, and a strong mother that showed me what being a true woman is. That we can love, nuture, and comfort those in need, but still attain an autonomy that allows us to move mountains. That is what LOLA is to me.

Why do we allow ourselves to be held by law based constraints? With laws enacted like the Patriot Act, our foreign policy of entangling alliances, and the dominance of a drugged up society imposed by the FDA and pharmaceutical industry- how do we attain true freedom? How do we see the true essences of ourselves or the liberty in which we can attain through voluntary interactions?

How do we break these chains?

We have to come together. We have to become a family in this movement. Watch our for one another- fulfill needs and niches, both political and activist based. We have to stand together in our autonomy.

And LOLA is fighting to educate and empower those in the movement to build leaders.  Join us in this fight. Spread the word- become involved- and lets enact liberty already!
