The Valentine's Day red light camera protest in Santa Maria, led by LOLA's Amber Danielle and Zaira Dynia drew attention from the Santa Maria Sun, who interviewed both hosts of the Truth A-Z Show, and wrote about them in an article focusing on the outrage caused by the cameras' presence.
In the article, entitled “Locals see red over photo enforcement”, author Jeremy Thomas quotes both women, and mentions Ladies of Liberty Alliance as organizing the protests nationwide.
United States of America – February 12, 2010 - Tracey Harmon, Army veteran and Southwest Regional Outreach Director for the Ladies of Liberty Alliance, is traveling to Iraq this April for a very different purpose than her former employer would have allowed. With an international team devoted to the principles of “devoting the same discipline and self-sacrifice to non-violent peacemaking that armies devote to war," Tracey will head to Iraq via Turkey on April 15th.
In the conflicted border regions of the Kurdish north, Tracey will be documenting human rights violations against civilian populations and meeting with various relief groups and Iraqi civilians. She will be also be conducting local radio interviews and blogging with live footage and reports from the ground.
In Tracey's own words, “[it] has been my personal obligation to travel to Iraq ever since enlisting in the U.S. Army at 18 years old. As a soldier, I swore an oath to protect and defend the Constitution from all foreign and domestic enemies. When I realized that more enemies of the U.S. Constitution are being created, and the surge of violence and terrorism is increasing by our presence in Iraq, I could no longer participate in the unnecessary bloodshed and violence our country was waging, and thus applied and received Conscientious Objector status. Now, I have the unique opportunity to travel unarmed to Iraq on a peacemaking mission, and accept personal responsibility for the damage due to my participation as a formal soldier, and to work towards alleviating human suffering in any capacity I can.”
