Today I attended the first Senate Tea Party Caucus meeting.  It felt like a lot of Tea Parties I've attended over the past couple of years, and I am reassured that the movement for a more limited government that can manage its pocketbook is not going anywhere.  Senator Rand Paul said that while people may wonder if Washington would change these newly elected "Tea Party" members, the fact is that the Tea Party is co-opting Washington.  Senator Jim DeMint received a standing ovation and has become quite the outspoken government leader in the movement for limited government.

Rhetorical skills shine while economy tanks

Therein  lies the story with the current regime. It is as if they are playing a part when responding to real questions on the state of the economy.

When Nancy Pelosi harkens from the pulpit that the ONLY thing that can save the economy is unemployment benefits, we all giggle. We think back astonished when we recall that she also stated "economists will tell you". It is as if these people are completely out of touch with economic reality.
